Randox Laboratories currently has a unique opportunity for a senior level manufacturing professional to head up its manufacturing plant in Bangalore, India.

This pivotal role will involve managing and coordinating manufacturing processes ensuring that all kits and components are dispensed, labelled, packed, stored and despatched in accordance with order and product specifications.

The Manufacturing Manager will ensure operational activities meet and integrate with organisational requirements for quality management, health and safety, environmental policies and general duty of care as well as promoting a positive approach environment in which to work.

The Manufacturing Manager will be accountable for obtaining the performance objectives of the company including revenue growth, profitability, customer satisfaction, manufacturing excellence, strategic planning and talent development through his/her direct reports.

The Role:

  • Have full management responsibility for all manufacturing operations at the Bangalore site

  • Review current strategies and operating plans, and agree, in conjunction with Senior Management, on immediate and long-term actions

  • Oversight of manufacturing operations to review production reports and resolve operational, manufacturing and facility problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays and to meet future growth plans

  • Ensure tight control is maintained over business performance and that operating management responds quickly and effectively to any problems or adverse trends

  • Drive process improvement initiatives 

  • Provide leadership across the organization for problem resolution to facilitate faster improvements and improved working relationships

  • Develop the talent in the organization that includes a strong succession plan

  • Establish and maintain appropriate systems for measuring necessary aspects of operational management and development for Packing, Despatch, Auto dispense and WIP Stock Control.

  • Manage and develop direct reporting staff within Packing, Despatch, Auto dispense and WIP Stock Control.

  • Manage and control departmental expenditure within agreed budgets for Packing, Dispatch, Auto dispense and WIP Stock Control.

  • Liaise with other functional / departmental managers so as to understand and meet all necessary objectives and targets.

  • Maintain awareness and knowledge of contemporary operational development methods and provide suitable interpretation to upper management and staff within the company.

  • Extensive management experience in a manufacturing setting

  • Track record of producing results, meeting targets and manufacturing/operational excellence

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Proven leadership skills and a high level of self-motivation

  • Entrepreneurial and innovative

  • Energetic and enthusiastic; confident in tackling challenges

  • Confidence to take ownership and make decisions

  • Ability to identify and develop talent

  • Ability to work to strict time-frames and meet deadlines, understanding a sense of urgency

  • Strong collaboration and partnership skills

  • A willingness to relocate to Bangalore (if not already in situ)

Desirable skills/experience

  • Working knowledge of lean manufacturing

  • Experience of quality assurance systems

  • Working knowledge of health & safety requirements in a manufacturing setting

  • Experience in the diagnostic sector
